Our one day in Idaho

Woke up in the woods this morning. What a glorious thing! So fun to have all the family crammed in together in our little RV. OK, that was not sarcasm. I mean it! We’ll see if I feel the same by day 60. Or by day 3? =) Don got going around 6:30 am while the rest of us slept in until almost 9. We were tired from the last couple of weeks preparing for our adventure. Don had 90+ miles to do today. We just had to get to Libby MT. We were supposed to meet Don at 3pm at the Libby Public Library. We ate a late breakfast, stopped to shop in Sandpoint, hung on the beach, ate ice cream, had lunch and and then finally decided we better get going. We finally made it to our rendezvous spot about two and a half hours late. We found Don sound asleep on the grass in front of the library. It was a gorgeous 90 mile ridethat Don managed to lengthen to about 95 because he was so enthralled by the scenery that he missed a turn.

We spent the evening camped in the woods again. We parked by the “Path to Beach” sign, happy to get such a great spot and surprised noone else had taken it when the campground was pretty full. After hiking for about a mile and finally ending up on dry clay with a further hike down to dirty, inaccessible water, we figured out why!! In the middle of the night, we had a psycho coyote go on and on right next to our camp.
